Trying something new is always nice. And if this new thing is challenging, even better. So I decided to participate in the 3 weeks Reboot Challenge by Swiss City Bootcamp. Split in three parts, I will write about my experience as a sporty early bird at the end of each week. So, here comes part 1.
The first five days…
Monday, April 4th 2016. I’m a night owl, but in the following three weeks this definitely had to change. It was the first day of the 3 weeks Reboot Challenge, 5.30 in the morning. Time to do some sports.
This is a time of the day that I always knew would be nice to experience, but I just couldn’t be bothered to wake up that early. Now that I’m awake and on my way to the first workout, I enjoy to hear only the birds chirping while the city was still asleep.
With me is also Steffi from the Blog Bellemelle and around 20 other people. In the 5 following weekdays, we get up every morning to sweat and work out together under the guidance of our lovely coaches Carola and Clemens. The vibe is good, everyone is motivated and also a bit proud of the achievement to not only do sports every day but to do it at THAT time of the day.
The workout is either indoor in the Boxclub or outdoor in the surroundings of the Helvetiaplatz. The training itself is an interval training, with changes between cardio and toning exercises. I like that we mostly work with our own body weight or with a partner. Together, we go through a lot of running, jumping jacks, lunges, squats, boxing, sit-ups, jack knifes, push ups and of course the groups favorite exercise: burpees, burpees and more burpees…Coach Carola promised that we will love them after the 3 weeks, her word in god’s ears 🙂
And, there is something more going on in our workouts. It’s the VIP-Battle Zucco vs. Midi between Claudio Zuccolini and Midi Gottet. During the three weeks, the two of them have to face six extra challenges, where people can vote who does it best.
The vegan metabolism booster
Let me introduce you to: The QUBE. This small vegan nutrition bomb promises to support your workout in the most efficient way. The monofood bar is supposed to boost your metabolism so you even build up more muscles and burn more fat. Hurray! But here comes the tricky part: 10 QUBE bars per day are the only thing you’re supposed to eat. For the most effect you should do this for two weeks. I like challenges. But I also like food, a lot. However, this booster bar sounds nice to me and I especially like the fact that it is all natural and vegan. I also don’t mind the taste, it’s something between sweet and salty. So I decided to try it out for one week, during the second week of the Reboot challenge.
If you want to read about my experience with the QUBE bar, have a look at the second post next week!
